ETC Nova Concludes First Global Hackathon, Revitalizing Ethereum Classic’s Ecosystem
Ethereum Classic (ETC)’s first-ever global hackathon has successfully concluded. With 28,400 ETC awarded in total prizes, the event marks a decisive step forward for ETC’s long-term expansion.
ETC Nova was the first-ever global hackathon in ETC’s history, drawing developer teams from across dozens of countries. A total of 29 standout projects were selected, spanning key areas like decentralized exchanges (DEXs), stablecoins, cross-chain bridges, GameFi, and social protocols — significantly expanding ETC’s on-chain ecosystem and showcasing its untapped potential as a robust Proof-of-Work (PoW) network.

The first wave of prize distribution — totaling 20,900 ETC (approx. $420,000 USD) — has already been completed, covering multiple award categories such as Student Participation Award, Most Popular Projects, and Tracks Award. The event sparked fresh energy across the community and accelerated the development of core infrastructure on ETC.
To maintain this momentum, Season 2 of the ETC Nova Hackathon is now in planning, with a focus on emerging verticals like AI, Real-World Assets (RWA), stablecoins, and on-chain asset management. Alongside this, EGD is rolling out an upgraded Global Ambassador Program — introducing three new roles for Community, Content, and Student Ambassadors — including the launch of a dedicated Student Ambassador Track aimed at strengthening ETC’s influence within university developer communities.
As ETC Nova marks the first full-scale execution of ETC’s ecosystem strategy, it also signals ETC’s renewed presence in the global PoW conversation. ETC is accelerating toward an open, resilient, and rapidly evolving ecosystem — unlocking a new wave of value for PoW networks.
