BITMAIN Successfully Hosted the Global Hydro-Cooling Tour in Oman

On October 27th, BITMAIN, along with its clients, visited the Salalah Exahertz’s hydro-cooling mining data center in Salalah district of Oman for the global hydro-cooling tour at the Oman Station.

Salalah is located in the hot desert region of the Middle East, bordering the Arabian Gulf to the south. It has an average annual temperature of about 30°C and an average relative humidity of about 70%, exhibiting a climate with typical characteristics of high heat and high humidity. For a long time, mining in such climatic conditions has faced significant challenges due to operational instability and a higher rate of malfunctions.

The ANTMINER hydro-cooling miner, in conjunction with ANTSPACE’s operational solutions and the superior heat dissipation of hydro-cooling technology, adeptly address these challenges, establishing them as the top choice for mining operations in the Middle East. Hydro-cooling technology enables consistent and stable performance of each chip, irrespective of seasonal changes or geographic location. The Exahertz hydro-cooling data center has achieved sustained, stable operations in this region, maintaining an impressive 99.8% uptime.

“Hydro-cooling mining is a revolutionary technology, especially for the Middle East,” stated Jad, the CEO of Exahertz, “this technology gives us an unparalleled advantage in mining in desert areas, which was almost impossible in the past. Therefore, we are extremely grateful for BITMAIN’s hydro-cooling mining technology, which has helped us ‘conquer’ the desert mining”.

In terms of cooling water, the Exahertz hydro-cooling data center has creatively utilized municipal greywater for its dry-wet towers, fostering a harmonious relationship with the local community. Jad further emphasized their aspiration to partner with BITMAIN in driving innovative breakthroughs for the industry, contributing to the evolution of the entire ecosystem towards a more green, clean, and sustainable future.

In the discussion session following their visit, BITMAIN introduced a novel solution to the clients for converting waste heat from hydro-cooing mining into a sustainable hot water supply for hotels. This solution, backed by data analysis, showcased its dual benefits in terms of environmental sustainability and economic efficiency. It broadened the miners’ view on the expansive development potential and innovative opportunities of water-cooled mining.

The ‘ Global Hydro-Cooling Tour,’ jointly organized by BITMAIN and various global hydro-cooling data centers, aims to bring industry clients together to explore these advanced facilities worldwide, exchange insights, collaborate on learning, and contribute to building a more sustainable, cleaner, and efficient mining sector, thereby creating a better digital world.
